Quinn says fixing budget will take 'sacrifice'

Quinn isn't saying how he'll do it, and he isn't ruling out increasing the state income tax.

Quinn insists he'll have a "responsible" plan to address the budget problems he inherited from his predecessor, the ousted Rod Blagojevich.

Quinn told reporters today the state has to pay its bills and will have to tighten its belt to do it. But he provided no details.

Quinn has been governor for one week and he's under pressure to right the state's budget.

State Comptroller Dan Hynes on Wednesday said the state is looking at a combined budget deficit for this year and next that could be as much as $9 billion.
