ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It is definitely one of the most heated local races this election season.
The 34th District State Senate candidates took part in their first and only live televised debate, right here in our studios.
It was a fiery 50 minute exchange between Republican Frank Gambino and Democrat Steve Stadelman. The two candidates sparred on many issues but agreed to a point on others including whether to eliminate Illinois’ 2-5% income tax increase when it expires in 2014.
If you missed the debate, you can watch it here and on our politics page where you'll also find the other candidate forums we have had.
Our seventh and final candidate forum is Friday, November 2, with Republican Congressman Adam Kinzinger of the 16th Congressional District. Be sure to share your questions with us on Facebook or send us a question to @23WIFR on Twitter using #kinzinger.
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Join us tonight for a special edition of the 23 News at Six, where 34th District Candidates Steve Stadelman and Frank Gambino will face off right here.
The first part of the forum will air on 23 WIFR with the second part airing on 23.2 or Comcast channel 436. We will also be streaming the debate live on our webchannel.
