Poll: Obama maintains slight lead in Wisconsin
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A new poll shows the race tightening in Wisconsin between Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama and Republican John McCain.
The Quinnipiac University poll shows Obama leading McCain by seven percentage points, down from 11 points in the school's July poll.
The latest poll shows Obama leading McCain 49 to 42.
Other surveys, including last week's Big Ten Battleground Poll, have shown the race tightening. Pollsters say McCain has picked up support from independent women, but Obama is still running strong among blue collar workers.
The poll has a margin of error of 2.7 percentage points.
