GLEN ELLYN, Ill. (AP) -- Republican presidential hopeful Mitt Romney was in the Chicago suburb of Glen Ellyn today with former House Speaker Dennis Hastert of Illinois.
During the appearance, the former Massachusetts governor cast himself as the more reliable conservative in comparison to his rival Senator John McCain.
Romney was in Illinois ahead of the Super Tuesday primaries. The state awards its 57 convention delegates proportional to the winner in each of its congressional districts, so Romney campaigned personally, hoping to claim a share of the prize.
After the Illinois appearance, Romney headed to Missouri.
