Brady Talks Transportation, Whitney Talks Education

ROCKTON (WIFR) -- Candidates continue to tour the state to let us know why they are the best choice for November 2nd.

Today in Rockton the campaign bus was the mode of transportation for gubernatorial candidate Bill Brady and Brady says transportation and location are two keys to putting the Stateline economy back on track.

"Logistically this part of the country is in the center of our economy. And transportation costs being what they are, manufacturing products here in the center of our Nation's economy gives us a great advantage if we just work to make Illinois a business friendly state again." said Brady.

While Brady focused on transportation Green Party candidate Rich Whitney was in Chicago focusing on education.

Whitney thinks Illinois should let people go to college for free. He says offering free college would cost Illinois nearly $4 billion a year but considers it an investment in the people of Illinois.

Whitney went on to say it couldn't be done right away but eventually would be possible if Illinois balances its budget with a series of tax increases and spending cuts.
