Wis. GOP Gets Behind Duffy & Ribble in Key Races

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Republicans are rallying behind a former reality television star and a former roofer in their quest to pick up two Wisconsin congressional seats held by Democrats.

Republican voters on Tuesday picked Sean Duffy, who once starred on MTV's "The Real World," in the race for the seat being vacated by Democratic Congressman David Obey.

Duffy will take on popular Democratic state Sen. Julie Lassa.

Republicans also picked businessman Reid Ribble to run against Congressman Steve Kagen.

Victories would give the GOP a majority of Wisconsin's congressional seats. But Republican wins are far from assured, given that the state leans Democratic.
