President Obama Talks Infrastructure and Economy

MILWAUKEE, WI (WIFR) -- The commander and chief made a stop in Milwaukee to talk about one in a series of new economic proposals he will pitch this week.

They include new incentives to spur research and development and to help small businesses hire more workers.

Today's big announcement was his plan for getting Americans back to work. He unveiled a $50 billion dollar plan to spruce up the country's roads, railways and airport runways.

"Over the next six years, we are going to rebuild 150,000 thousand mile of our roads. That’s enough to circle the world six times. That’s a lot of road. We’re going to lay and maintain 4,000 miles of our railways, enough to stretch coast to coast." said President Obama.

The President moves on to Cleveland on Wednesday to talk about tax credits for businesses.
