DIXON - (WIFR) From the Sauk Valley Voter Education Committee:
The Sauk Valley Voter Education Committee will be holding a Voter Education Fair at Sauk Valley Community College -Dixon IL, from 1-5pm on September 26, 2010.
Voters are invited to attend this free, non-partisan, all-inclusive event to meet a broad menu of candidates prior to the November general elections. Candidates from across the political spectrum (Democrat, Republican, Independent, Green, Constitution, & Libertarian Parties) will be stationed throughout the East Mall at Sauk Valley Community College, where voters will have the opportunity to go straight to the source and speak with each candidate individually. The event is free to attend and will be the largest, most inclusive event scheduled in all of Illinois prior to the November 2nd General Election.
Nearly 90 candidates have been invited, including those running for: Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, Comptroller, Treasurer, Secretary Of State, US Representative (14th, 16th, 17th congressional districts), US Senator, State Representative (71st and 90th districts), Whiteside County Sheriff, Whiteside and Lee County Boards. In addition, the Whiteside County Clerk will be on hand to help register Whiteside County residents wishing to vote in the upcoming election.
The Sauk Valley Voter Education Committee is a group of local citizens dedicated to providing opportunities for residents of the Sauk Valley area to meet candidates “one-on-one” to discuss important issues, values, and positions in order to cast an informed ballot in November.
