Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Brady Named “Tax Villain”

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- National Taxpayers United of Illinois says it has 30 thousand members making it the largest such group in Illinois.

Its President, Jim Tobin says the republican candidate for governor is a tax villain because he voted for a property tax increase in Cook County and a bill that allowed 101 Illinois counties to impose a new sales tax. Tobin also claims Brady is a tax villain because he's fighting to keep the libertarian and constitution party gubernatorial candidates off the ballot.

"He's a pork barrel politician who is now wasting state taxpayer dollars trying to knock competitors off the ballot in Springfield." said NTUI President James Tobin.

Tobin says he also considers Pat Quinn an enemy of the tax payers for wanting to raise the state's income tax by 67 percent.

The only Stateline politician to previously earn tax villain of the month was state representative chuck Jefferson in February of this year.

Bill Brady also has problems paying HIS OWN taxes (i.e. despite being a multimillionaire, he took his state salary and paid 0 taxes! #fail). And his record on women is even more troubling: against equal pay for equal work, against choice for rape victims, etcetc:

Just curious - what does this group think taxes are for, and were they around during the Bush administration?
