ILLINOIS (WIFR) – It’s been more than a month since a special committee was formed to deal with Illinois’ pension crisis and still no deal has been reached.
State senator Bill Brady sits on that committee and today he stopped in Rockford to drum up support for his third gubernatorial bid. Brady tells us that pension deal that isn’t sustainable over the long term isn’t worth it and that’s why the committee is taking their time.
“Anything less than that, frankly, isn’t worth doing. So we’re trying to bring bipartisan support,” said Sen. Brady.
Brady will face off against Dan Rutherford, Bruce Rauner, and Kirk Dillard int eh republican primary next spring.
