ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Neighborhood watch has been taken to a whole new level. Police removed millions of dollars worth of drugs from our community all thanks to a few concerned phone calls.

Fifty officers from various Stateline police agencies started knocking on doors early this morning. They served six warrants and went off of tips called in by neighbors.

It was collaborative policing at its finest. The operation took ten hours and focused on addresses--not people. Their biggest find was a million dollars worth of pot plants. They searched 39 locations, arrested 12 people, and also removed $2500 in drug money. They found $2,000 worth of cocaine, more than $70,000 worth of marijuana, and cannabis plants worth more than $1 million.

Today police officers thanked citizens for making them aware of problem areas.
