ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Police are investigating two crimes that happened overnight on the city's east side.

The first, a shooting on the city's east side leaves two men wounded. It happened on 15th Avenue just before 9:30 last night.

A group of men were sitting on the porch when a black Pontiac Grand AM fired four shots from the car. Two men were hit. One man was treated and released, the other declined treatment. The car fled west across the 15th Avenue Bridge. The suspect is described as a hispanic man between 18 and 20, with a slight mustache. So far, no suspects are in custody.

And one person is in jail this morning after a three car accident on the city's east side

It happened just before 10pm at the intersection of Alpine and Riverside. The suspect ran a red light going south on Alpine, struck an eastbound vehicle pushing that car into another east bound vehicle. The driver, 23 year old Janai Flores-Parra of Rockford, was arrested for several charges including DUI.

this is why we shouldn't have ccw . the people on the porch could of had their weapons without ccw so it doesn't even apply. people that use anger/emotions when they arent relavent to suit their cause means either they are too stupid to realize what they support or they are milking your sense of emotion to crime. how about we increase gun crimes to near capital levels for punishement and keep scumbags off the streets for good instead of letting them out in 6 months.

When are the powers that be going to do something about these slime of the slug. This backward state needs conceal carry,it needs well used gallows on the courthouse square,we need to make our "people of justice",accountable for their actions, you get a scum-bag off,"it" gets in trouble again, both the"perp"and the legal people that put"it"back on the streets go to the SLAMMER.The cops have a tough enough job without having to deal with "repeaters".

this city is filled with lowlife punks who have never worked a day in their life. all we can hope for is they rob the wrong person or place and get what they have coming. everyone thinks it will turn into the wild west if we have ccw, 49 other states beg to differ. i bet that drunk punk driving didn't even have insurance. welcome to the welfare states of america, where the hard working law abiding taxpayers get to foot the bill for all you lazy irresponsible idiots.

This city and state will continue to be a place of crime untill our sad Politicians "wake up" and allow us LAW ABIDING CITIZENS to carry concealed!!! How many more states can retain their rights untill IL gets with the times!! Oh wait, there wont be anymore states because we are the LAST ONE!! How embarressing! Wake up..do you really think all these criminals care if you dont allow ccw? Thats why last week alone there were 21 robberies, that we heard of! Because the Police cant be everywhere!! I dont know what else we can do including the NRA, Quinn..how about you actually listen to the PEOPLE of IL, because we HATE the laws that you have put into place for what seems to be your OWN personal agenda!!!!
