WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WIFR) -- The Winnebago County Sheriff's office recently received a $100,000 grant to help it with some special technology projects.
Some of that money is being used to make sure crime that happens in Winnebago County is mapped on a website. You can now access www.crimemapping.com, enter your address, and find out what crimes have happened in your neighborhood in the last week.
It's updated every 24 hours and it's free. You can also sign up for specific email updates for your address.
There's a link on the Sheriff's website.
Crime reported by Rockford Police was already available on the website.
