Forbes: Rockford is the 10th Most Dangerous City in America

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford just cracks the top ten of a list it does not want to be on: the Forest City ranks as the tenth most dangerous American city by Forbes magazine with 760 violent crimes per 100 thousand residents.

If you're looking for a silver lining: we are not the highest Illinois city on the list. Ranking 3rd is--no not Chicago--Springfield. Forbes ranks Detroit as the most dangerous city in the country with Memphis as the runner up.

by lovespark resident hey on Monday [according to our MAYOR DARREL] are city will continue to contribute to the crime rate with another gun shop opening. He is so proud to let people come in to our city to purchase the guns so they can go commit crimes in the surrounding area. This will be four.

The Forbes story is inaccurate and use a population base of over 350,000 people for this study. That populous is way beyond the city limits of Rockford Illinois there for the story is crap. WIFR should be doing a rebuttal to this story
