BELOIT (WIFR) -- When a Beloit woman's best friend was murdered she couldn't rest until the case was finally closed -- and decades later it eventually was. Now she's trying to help solve other cold cases.

Terri Garcia lost her best friend when they were just 22-years-old. Years later she has written a book in his honor: one that details all the unsolved murders in Rock County.

Garcia spent months compiling all the facts she could get her hands on for some of Wisconsin's most gruesome murders. The one thing all the stories have in common? They haven't been solved. There are 28 cases and they date all the way back to 1969. She's sold nearly 400 copies since February.

Her books are sold at gas stations and Walgreens in Beloit and Janesville.

The books cost $10 a piece. Garcia is donating most of her proceeds to Crimestoppers.

Check out her website at www.rockcountyunsolvedmurders.com.

Available for purchase in Janesville at Walgreens on Madison Rd., Prairie Ave., and Broad St; in Beloit at Milton Ave., Center Ave., Kettering Ave., and W. Court St.

To have a book shipped to you, send a money order for $12 ($2 for shipping) to PO Box 182 South Beloit, IL 61080.
