BELVIDERE (BPD) -- Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble announces enforcement results for the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program Cinco de Mayo campaign.
The Belvidere Police department received funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation to hire off duty officers from April 27- May 6. Officers conducted 77 traffic stops that resulted in:

21- Uninsured
6- Equipment
11- Suspended/Revoked/Unlicensed
4- Other D.L.
11- Moving
2- BAC over .08
4- Registration
7- Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor
8- Drugs
6- Curfew
2- Illegal Transportation of Alcohol
1- Reckless Driving
1- Resisting a Peace Officer
1- Endangering the Life of a Child
Belvidere officers will continue with targeted traffic enforcement in the coming months. The next campaign will be the “Click it or Ticket” campaign. Please buckle up and drive carefully.
