Belvidere Police Announce Cinco De Mayo Campaign Results

BELVIDERE (BPD) -- Belvidere Police Chief Jan Noble announces enforcement results for the Sustained Traffic Enforcement Program Cinco de Mayo campaign.

The Belvidere Police department received funding from the Illinois Department of Transportation to hire off duty officers from April 27- May 6. Officers conducted 77 traffic stops that resulted in:

98 TICKETS or ARRESTS:

6- DUI
7- Speeding
21- Uninsured
6- Equipment
11- Suspended/Revoked/Unlicensed
4- Other D.L.
11- Moving
2- BAC over .08
4- Registration
7- Unlawful Consumption of Alcohol by a Minor
8- Drugs
6- Curfew
2- Illegal Transportation of Alcohol
1- Reckless Driving
1- Resisting a Peace Officer
1- Endangering the Life of a Child

Belvidere officers will continue with targeted traffic enforcement in the coming months. The next campaign will be the “Click it or Ticket” campaign. Please buckle up and drive carefully.

    i also agree with don if police can video us we should be able to video them dont worry don that so they can beat you down with no problems we have to treat them like they treat us more beatdowns for them

    Theres a fine fine here money, when has anyone heard of his crap money bottom line.. they are taking the tax payer for a loope..house them they get paid...money baby.. money..and they laugh while taking the tax payers...say what you want thats the realilty of it..hide like people do..

    illinios just passed a law forbidding video recording of law in forcement.. well I got some news for that I will be taking that to the United nations with that concern they can have cams on us but we can't have cams on them I don't think so.. To me that is like being in cuba..dictators running this area.. I will put this on fox news abc and nbc and any other nwes agency that hears this..

    ..over the weekend went to my son's birthday party at girlsfriends families house.. They had friends over , And before yo knew it they where slamming mexicans and latino's..talk about a wake up call. I am not even mexican I from spain. There are alot of racial problems around here. I come from spain and whites and blacks whatever color you are were welcomed in spain I come here And this is what I get.. not right.. I aksed one member at the party .. You celebrate cinco de mayo ,, He said f the mexicans and there bs.. I thought wow.. No wonder this country is the way it is...To me this country will be in ruins soon with that kind of atitude. what a welcome..
