ROCKFORD (WIFR) --According to the FBI, bank robberies fell again last year. In 2012, robbers hit only seven Winnebago County banks.

That’s three fewer robberies than in 2010. No bank was robbed twice last year and there was about one robbery a month through August. Bank robberies are also down in Chicago and the suburbs. Only 70 percent of bank robberies get solved, but prison time is lengthy.
