LOVES PARK (WIFR) -- Right on schedule, that's the word from Woodward concerning it's 440,000 foot expansion in Loves Park.
Woodward's Aircraft Turbine Systems President Sager Patel was the keynote speaker at the Annual Parks Chamber Dinner Thursday night. Patel delivered the good news about the progress of the new campus. Which he says should be up and running by the end of next year.
"It was a tough decision to make to stay in the Rockford/Loves Park area. Are you still happy with that decision? Absolutely. The more we've gotten into the construction project we've just enjoyed working with the city of Loves Park. It's great to see this much work going on. It's great to see things taking shape. So yeah. It absolutely justified are decision," Patel said.
Patel says the construction process alone has already created from 800 to 1,000 direct and in direct jobs. Another thousand jobs are expected to be created at the new campus over the next seven years.
