ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Prescient Audio, an American consumer and professional audio manufacturer of high performance, radical loudspeaker technology, announced today it has been named as an International CES Innovations 2014 Design and Engineering Awards Honoree for its ThinDriverTM TD-12. TD-12 is truly turning the industry on its ear, providing the most radical update of loudspeaker design in 90 years and offering consumers the ultimate ThinTimate™ home theater experience.

Products entered in this prestigious program are judged by a preeminent panel of independent industrial designers, independent engineers and members of the trade media to honor outstanding design and engineering in cutting edge consumer electronics products across 29 product categories. Prescient Audio was appropriately designated as an Honoree in the High Performance Home Audio product category.

Prescient Audio’s TD-12 is the thinnest, lightest and coolest 12-inch subwoofer available on the market, offering superior audio quality, while powerfully outperforming its competition and boasting a cool, energy efficient design. The TD-12 is a high-performance, 1000-watt loudspeaker that repositions the
components from behind the loudspeaker, to its perimeter. With a mounted depth of 2.25”, the TD-12 is the shallowest subwoofer available.

Its futuristic design allows for a smaller cabinet, requiring only .5 cubic feet of box volume. It can easily fit between standard wall joints within the wall cavity, underneath furniture and under car seats. While it’s the thinnest loudspeaker profile in the industry, it still provides a rich, superior true-to-signal sound and
incredible bass throughout all audible levels, all while offering the largest power-to-weight ratio in the industry at 120 watts per pound. Competitors don’t even come close to this ratio; the TD-12’s ratio is five times greater than its closest thin profile competitor.

“The CES is the biggest showcase of new and advanced products in the consumer electronics industry,” said Paul Niedermann, CEO of Prescient Audio. “We are honored to receive the Innovations Award for the ThinDriverTM TD-12. This product has been three years in the making and we are excited to debut it to the marketplace.”

Products chosen as an Innovations honoree reflect innovative design and engineering. The Innovations entries were judged based on engineering qualities, aesthetic and design qualities, use and function, unique/novel features and how the product compares to other products in the market place.
