ROCKFORD (WIFR) – Several area businesses announce they’re expanding facilities and potentially putting more people to work. Three companies, Practice Velocity, Curtis Metal Finishing Company, and HMC Products say they either plan to expand or build brand new facilities in the Stateline.
The move is expected to bring nearly one hundred new jobs to the area. The Stateline has seen a slight drop in unemployment since last year, mainly because of growth in the local manufacturing industry.
It’s really exciting to not be able to find a parking space here at Practice Velocity right now. We’re moving to a new building and we’ll have parking, but it’s really exciting because every parking space that’s filled up and not available means that another family has a job,” said Practice Velocity CEO David Stern.
A number of local companies have said many times this year that they have had openings and are looking to hire. The real difficulty is finding candidates skilled enough and who qualify for those jobs.
