ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The search and selection process has been completed and EIGERlab has announced the selection of XL Academics, Inc. as the project lead for their Minority Business Development (MBD) project.
The objective of the MBD project is to identify start-up and existing minority business entrepreneurs with the potential for growth for referral and assistance into the existing service networks and to coordinate with current minority business support entities to develop a more robust minority business community in the region. We will be connecting with existing minority business organizations to create a more collaborative environment for minority business growth opportunities. “It is our hope that this project will assist in identifying EIGERlab as a regional connection point for existing and new minority business development,” says Dan Cataldi, EIGERlab Executive Director.
XL Academics was chosen for its current knowledge of minority-owned businesses in the region and its multi-lingual staff who will be involved in the project. The XL Academics team consists of:
• Excell Lewis III, Ms.Ed.
• Tara Romano
• Pradeep Rajula, MS.CS
• AnaMarie Gomez
Upon notification of their selection, XL Academics’ CEO Excell Lewis III stated, “We are truly excited about this opportunity and passionate about the success it will bring to minority owned businesses within Greater Rockford.”
The Minority Business Development project initially is a six-month project. EIGERlab will be seeking additional funding to move the initiative forward and to create a more permanent position and sustainable structure.
