Zimbrick of Rockford Closes Its Doors

ROCKFORD -- It has become official. Zimbrick of Rockford will be closing its doors tomorrow in its sales department and closing up its service department by close of business Saturday August 7th. All existing appointments will be honored. All assets will be liquidated by 08/31/2010.

With the loss of the Saturn franchise, and our inability to secure another one, it has become clear that we can not become a viable business any time in the near future. For this reason alone, we must close.

If you have a Saturn vehicle in warranty, you will be contacted as to which GM facility to take your vehicle to. Your extended warranties are also still in tact and backed by GM.

We are going to do our very best to help place the affected Zimbrick of Rockford employees locally with other facilities. If they come your way, grab them because they are good people who love servicing customers.

The 40 families who take pride in working at Zimbrick of Rockford thank you for making our journey so enjoyable. We did our best to run a business with integrity. We loved being part of the community. We loved the Saturn Dog Washes, road rallies, and other community events that we have done over the years. Most of all, we loved serving you.

So after nearly 18 years, that’s about it-at least for Saturn. It is a long good by. Hopefully, we’ll see you at another facility where we promise to continue that great customer experience you’ve enjoyed for so long. After all, it’s part of our DNA.

On behalf of the Zimbrick Family and everyone at Zimbrick of Rockford, thank you so much for an experience that has truly enriched our lives.

That's really a sad thing. It's hard to be losing so many businesses here in the stateline, but Zimbrick of Rockford did so much for this community. Almost every Saturday, there was a community or family event. They also helped out a lot with different charities here in the stateline. The statement they released was really a class act. I was always treated with respect at that dealership which can't be said for a lot of dealerships in this area. As a loyal customer, I wouldn't hesitate to drive the hour or so up into Wisconsin to buy a vehicle as Zimbrick has locations in the Madison/Sun Prairie/Middleton areas. Best of luck to all the wonderful employees from Zimbrick.

I bought several cars from Saturn. They were a class act in Rockford and will be missed. Their service department always treated us fair. Good luck to all the employees.

I have been out of Rockbottom, Il for 3 months now and that place just seems to keep falling apart. I suggest to people if they are able to get out of there to do so, that city is going to be on the endangered species list soon. Schools, mayors office, police chief, city board, high taxes, crime, business' closing (which seems like a weekly thing there) are all contributing factors to why that city is dying a slow death. I closed my business 3 months ago because I saw the domino effect taking place in Rockford and got out. The only people that seem to have high hopes for that place are the ones that don't have much to worry about financially or work for the city and have to make it sound like a great place to live. I give this to the city it has alot of nice people. Zimbrick closing their doors is not a surprise but it is always disappointing to see business' closing their doors and what is worse is that it is a high profile location which is a black eye for people visiting Rockford.
