More Hurdles For Housing?

ROCKFORD-(WIFR) Economist William Strauss says the Rockford market didn't experience extreme highs and lows, which will bode well for an economic recovery. But now that the homebuyers tax credit has expired, Strauss says we are seeing a pullback in housing, which could be a further drag on our economy.

"The housing market we would like to see that improve," says Strauss. "It could be described as best as bottoming and this has weighed very heavily on consumers and what their view is of their homes, as well as being able to refinance and take advantage of lower interest rates."
