Quinn Announces $5 Million in Federal Energy Grants

Nearly 100 new manufacturing jobs are blowing into Rockford thanks to a new federal energy grant.

$5 million dollars of federal stimulus money is being given to Ingersoll Machine Tools. The new funds will be matched by the company as it gears up to create wind turbine parts.

The project will create at least 87 jobs and retain another 69 at Ingersoll Machine Tools. The grant is being awarded through the green industry business development program, which is part of the stat'es energy plan. Governor Quinn believes creating more green energy jobs in illinois is key to competing on a global scale, and expanding our renewable energy sources. wind is a major component of illinois' long term energy plan to have 25 percent of all state produced energy come from renewable sources.

"We have in Rockford, a single choice to make are we going to sit around back at home and feel sorry for ourselves with the high unemployment rate, or are we going to go out to the world, engage, lead and invest. What you see today, are the powerful, powerful good things that can happen when we collaborate." said Quinn.

The company is known for its involvement with airplanes, and CEO Tino Oldani says they will use that experience and technology to propel them into the wind industry.

Illinois currently ranks third in the nation for installation of new wind turbines. Right now wind makes up about three-percent of all generated energy in our state.

Well that is 5 million of our money we can kiss good bye. Tino and the rest of his management especially Todd Trieloff cannot even build worthy machines to spec and on time, which is the reason they have very very few return customers which in turn has made Ingersoll lay off over 70% of the employees and the ones still there are working 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off or taking turns taking 3 weeks off at a time. You can sure bet that Manzullo had a lot to do with his buddy Tino getting this money just like he did paving the way for Tino to buy Ingersoll in bankruptcy court when another buyer already had the sale locked up. It is a real shame and a crime that our federal money could of not gone to a 100% owned American company.
