Job loss is slowing.. and experts say it's a sign we're coming out of the recession. But there is still a lot of work to be done. In tonight's Economy Rockford report.. what business owners need to do *today to prepare for *tomorrow.
Business owners need to be attentive if they don't want to get left behind. Development expert Einar Forsman says staying on top of your business model and reviewing it frequently is crucial.
He says touching base with your clients.. and updating your marketing plan is also a must.
Forsman says staying close to what you know... And taking a conservative approach could be the best strategy for the future.
"Never forget what is core to your organization and your strength always stay with that if you move away from your core you've lost your message and base and may not recover from that. you still as an entrepreneur need to look at ways to build your business but also don't be a chef when you've never cooked in your life. don't fix a car when you've never looked under the hood.. stay within the things you are comfortable with that you believe you can expand upon and diversify your business."
Forsman says often times businesses get too wrapped up in diversification... And they forget about their core mission.
