$1.2M Grant Hopes to Train Workers for Manufacturing Jobs

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- We hear it all of the time... There are a lot of manufacturing job openings in the Stateline but workers don't have up to date training to do the job. Now a new grant hopes to change that.

A $1.2 million dollar grant from the state hopes to speed up the training process. The Accelerated Training for Illinois Manufacturing grant will allow around 130 local students to build on the skills they already have so the can return to the workforce faster. The grant targets a handful of manufacturing jobs that are in high demand.
