Koats 4 Kids Receives Big Donation

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Joan Tresemer and her daughters bought 110 coats and countless scarves, hats and mittens.

23 News caught up with her yesterday as she dropped them off at the Salvation Army's Koats 4 Kids collection site at Logli's on Harlem.

"Somebody's got to help out the more unfortunate people, so my way and my girls’ way of helping." said Tresemer.

Organizers hope to give away 3,000 coats this year. You can drop off your donation at Hilander and Logli grocery stores and about a dozen other locations.

23 WIFR is a co-sponsor of Koats for Kids.

My sister, Joan Tresemer, has been knitting scarves for the Marines' charity for years. She has lovingly repaired, washed and collected these coats. Thank you for showing her generosity.
