Promote the City of Freeport as much as possible. That was the goal for non-profit organization, Pretzel City USA, a mission that will come to an end next month.
Pretzel city u-s-a's board of directors announced the organization would be ceasing operations on December 31st, closing the door on 13 years of service to the Freeport community. Quarry Day and the Pretzel City Festival are just two of the events that Pretzel City USA has hosted in their history.
Throughout their run, board members are thankful for the support they have received from the Freeport community.
"We've had great support, and Freeport is a great city. Maybe there will be another organization that will come along and pick up the ball and do some of these things, but it is our time to move on", says Pretzel City USA president Dan Stowe.
The organization has donated to several groups in the Freeport community and plan to make one final donation, before the end of the year. Board members are still unsure of whom to give the remaining funds.
