Ill. woman's mom says family is 'drawing together'

DWIGHT, Ill. (AP) -- The mother of an eastern Illinois woman killed in an apparent murder-suicide says the family is grieving and drawing together.

Cynthia McMeen of Dwight is the mother of 30-year-old Sara McMeen of Emington.

Sara McMeen, her three children and her live-in boyfriend were found dead Friday at their home.

Cynthia McMeen says the family realizes the tragedy "affects not only their family, but other families as well."

She says, "the family is drawing together during this time, relying on God, and grieving."

Authorities have said the deaths were a murder suicide but haven't identified the shooter.

A neighbor says she saw Sara McMeen fire a shot at her 10-month-old daughter.
