A day in the doctor's office is not Camden's idea of a good time. His mom Pam agrees. But her allergies have been so bothersome, she says she had to do something!

"My allergy symptoms this year have been horribly bad."

Pam is one of countless stateline residents struggling with unusually bothersome allergies. So she decided to get a skin test to find out what's been bothering her...

"Right now I'm allergic to mold."

Dr. Fatima Mohuddin has been with SwedishAmerican Health Systems for 17 years.

"IIn the fall the major allergen is ragweed and there's a mold out there called altenarea, a lot of tree molds..."

A wet spring and warm fall have allowed for numbers of these allergens to increase, and they're likely to hang around until another hard frost. Just because you didnt experience seasonal allergies as a child does not mean you can't suffer from them now. "I have patients in their 60s and 70s can have allergies all of the sudden. I tell them, you've always had allergies but you just didn't pay attention or they weren't bad enough for you to justify getting the proper care."

Dr. Mohuddin says over the counter antihistimes can help, but she urges those suffering from intense symptoms to get an allergy test and prescription for long term relief.
