Our Favorite Burgers

Andy Gannon
Combine: 1 lb. hamburger, 1/2 tsp Worcestershire sauce, one chopped green onion
Form patties, sprinkle both sides with seasoning salt. Grill to desired doneness. Melt cheese of choice on top. Serve on bun with lettuce, tomato and pickles! No need for additional onions of condiments!

Summer time means grilling time and the grill gets regular use during the summer months at the Geraci house. I'm a fan of a simple burger using quality meat, topped with cheddar cheese. Top that off with lettuce, tomato from my uncle's garden and ketchup and I'm set. If I'm out at a restaurant that tops their burger with those little deep fried onion strings, I have to have that, but there's no way I can replicate that at home. Oh, and no matter what, I always need pickles on my burger!

I'm pretty simple when it comes to burgers! My perfect burger would be an Angus beef cheeseburger! I'd complete it with a slice American cheese, two thick pieces of lettuce, two tomatoes, pickles, two onions, mayonnaise, ketchup a little bit of mustard and a "special sauce" -much like the sauce used on In and Out burgers (burger joint in Western states like California and Arizona)

My burger must have the three "B’s”: Beef, Bacon and Barbecue Sauce. Also like some onion, mushrooms and lettuce, but no cheese for me. The only kind of cheese I like is mozzarella.

My favorite burger is one I make regularly in the summertime. You’ll need a love for spice to appreciate this bad boy! I hand-form the patties with chopped jalapenos, chopped onions, several drops of hot sauce and a few cloves of minced garlic. Melt a slice of habanero cheddar or pepper jack (or both) on top to give it a little more of a kick! Finally, I substitute ketchup with a nice chunky salsa and I’m ready to dig in!

I'm fairly plain when it comes to my ultimate burger. I dig a 1/4 pound burger cooked medium well with a slice of melted American cheese on a toasted bun. Toppings include: Mustard, mayonnaise, red onion, and two pickle slices. NO KETCHUP!
