ROCKFORD -- Saint Anthony College of Nursing welcomes Christine I. Krause, MS, FNP-BC, PNP-BC, AE-C, RN, as an assistant professor. As a dual board certified pediatric nurse practitioner (NP) and family nurse practitioner (FNP), Krause has an extensive clinical background that includes the University of Illinois College of Medicine and Rockford Health Physicians Allergy Department, Rockford Health Physicians Convenient Care, and Children’s Memorial Hospital (now Ann and Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago).
Krause received her post-master’s certificate as a family nurse practitioner with distinction and her Master of Nursing as a pediatric nurse practitioner, summa cum laude, from DePaul University in Chicago. Krause earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. She is a member of the Illinois Society for Advanced Practice Nursing (ISAPN) and the American College of Asthma Allergy and Immunology (ACAAI) Allied Health since 2005.
Krause’s teaching experience includes fourth year medical students from 2001 through 2013 and community involvement with The American Academy of Pediatrics, The American Lung Association, The Illinois Asthma Partnership, and The Rockford Asthma Consortium, where she worked with several area health departments, 10 local school districts, the YMCA, Girl/Boy Scouts and WIC.
