ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A delegation from the Japanese Red Cross Kyushu International College of Nursing talked to students at the St. Anthony College of Nursing on Monday about disaster relief. The group told students about the tragic earthquake and tsunami in 2001.
The two schools are in the process of setting up an international partnership.
Dr. Asako Katsumata, Asst. Professor at St. Anthony College of Nursing, says a partnership between the schools would boost scholarship opportunities and open the doors for students when starting their careers.
"Nursing education is quite consistent around the world. If you endeavor your future in the global context, then our students will have a lot more opportunity," Katsumata said.
St. Anthony College of Nursing is the first school in North America to form a working relationship with the Japanese Red Cross.
