ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Students at Belvidere High School are preparing for their future.

Seniors spent the day learning about their post-high school options. College Illinois Corps helped students learn about finding and applying to schools. Visiting colleges like Northern Illinois University and Rock Valley College were on hand to talk about campus life, admission requirements, and potential majors. Students say they realize it's important to start thinking about life after high school now.

Senior Javier Padilla said, "What I'm going to take away from today is the importance of deadlines that we're stressed a lot and to make sure I get my applications in, cause I personally want some scholarship money, and it'd be great to get that."

Worrying about paying for college was a common theme among students we spoke with.

That may be one of the reasons why enrollment is down this year at Rock Valley College.
