ROCKFORD -- A woman is in fair condition after being shot in Rockford Wednesday night.
At about 10:25 p.m., Rockford police say a 17-year-old woman and her boyfriend were walking in an alley at 1900 South 4th Street. After being approached by a maroon SUV, the driver began shooting a handgun at both victims. As they ran away, the female was shot in the foot. She was sent to Swedish American Hospital for treatment.
According to a press release, shell casings were recovered at the scene.
