MUSKOGEE, Ok (AP) -- A woman accused of bilking adoption agencies and families out of money after falsely claiming to be pregnant and seeking a home for the baby has pleaded guilty to a federal fraud charge.

Prosecutors in Muskogee said Wednesday that 41-year-old Davanna Deamber Dotson entered a guilty plea to wire fraud. She will be sentenced later and faces up to 20 years in prison and a fine up to $250,000.

Authorities say Dotson used multiple aliases and schemed to defraud agencies, and people seeking to become parents. She was indicted last month for allegedly accepting more than $3,000 in 23 separate transactions.

The money came from people or agencies in Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Louisiana, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas and Virginia.
