WINNEBAGO (WIFR) – The man who has led the Winnebago School District for more than a decade says farewell this week.
Dr. Dennis Harezlak has been the superintendent of District 323 for 11 years. He officially retires at the end of the week. Harezlak has worked in education for 40 years, more than 20 of them were spent in Rockford Public Schools. He says he’s seen a lot of positive changes in the school system over the years.
"The world of education has changed, technology has come in to play in a way that never was before,” Harezlak said. “When I first came here there was no Twitter, we weren't using the Internet quite the same way we're using it now. So it's been really exciting to be part of the educational process here.”
