A local fire-fighter whose house went up in flames is now thanking his department for responding to his home.
Gilberto Mota is a volunteer fire-fighter with West Suburban. His house on Euclid Avenue caught fire yesterday afternoon while he was on vacation. More than half a dozen departments helped put the blaze out. However the heat was so intense it destroyed his home.
