UPDATE: Fatal Car vs. Semi Accident in Boone County

BOONE COUNTY (WIFR) - One person is dead in a car vs. semi-truck crash in Boone County this morning.

Boone County Sheriff’s Department says a car and semi collided at the intersection of Highway 76 and Hunter roads.

Witnesses say the truck was heading north on Highway 76 and the car--travelling east on Hunter-- ran the stop sign and slammed into the truck. The car was fully engulfed.

The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was the only person in the car.

There were two people in the truck. The driver suffered minor injuries.

That intersection is closed and will remain closed for at least another hour.

    Yet the people always blame the drivers of semis, they just don't realize that semi drivers are the safest drivers on the road and the everyday people driving their little automobiles around are the real problem.
