JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- Two Loves Park men were arrested Tuesday night in Janesville Township for an alleged armed robbery.
At 10:31 p.m., officers from the Rock County Sheriff's Office and the Edgerton Police Department responded to a report of an armed robbery at the 5800 block of N. Glenmoor Lane. Reportedly, two white males pointed handguns at a man and his son in a driveway. According to a press release, the suspects fled in a Cadillac after stealing an iPhone and a laptop computer.
While police were checking nearby roads, the man had followed the suspects to a parking lot behind the Janesville Athletic Club on Blackbridge Road where a gold 2001 Cadillac Seville had struck a building and became stuck in a snow bank. The man called 911 and informed dispatch that the suspects had removed the license plate from the car and fled on foot.
After Janesville police officers and a K9 unit joined in a foot pursuit, 23-year-old Brandon M. Bunch and 20-year-old Brandon S. Turnure were taken into custody. After checking the surrounding area and vehicle, two handguns along with a cell phone and laptop computer were found.
Bunch and Turnure were transported to the Rock County Jail where they were held pending initial appearances in court Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. on charges of armed robbery. Since this is an ongoing investigation, additional charges are expected.
According to a press release, additional information suggests Bunch and Turnure are likely linked to a similar case that took place March 16 in Madison, WI. That case is still under investigation by the Madison Police Department.
