ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Tesla is adding a supercharger station in Rockford for its Model S electric sedans. It will open Thursday.
Only one other supercharger station has opened in the Midwest in Normal.
Tesla says charging will be free at the Rockford station. Drivers can travel for about three hours and take a 20 to 30 minute break to get charged.
A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at the supercharger station at Cherryvale Mall at 10 a.m. Thursday.
