BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- Students who can't even vote yet got a lesson on the election process from a Stateline senator.

Dave Syverson took over as principal for the day at Belvidere Central Middle School. Syverson met with 8th graders to talk about their upcoming constitution test. He also spent time teaching students about government and voting. On November 5th, the school is holding a mock election.

Syverson helped students learn about the importance of casting a ballot.
