State Street Ramps to I-90 to Close for Construction

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Business U.S. Route 20/State Street exit and entrance ramps to I-90 eastbound is expected to close next week for construction.

All four ramps will be rebuilt with new asphalt.

Beginning the week of Sept. 16, the two ramps for eastbound I-90 traffic from Wisconsin and to Chicago are scheduled to close for about six weeks due to construction. The ramps are considered to be too narrow for traffic during construction. The westbound ramps will remain open.

The detour routes will be:

- To Chicago: Business U.S. Route 20/State Street traffic entering I-90 eastbound will be detoured south on Perryville Road, east on Harrison Avenue and then north on I-39 to reach eastbound I-90.

- From Wisconsin: Eastbound I-90 traffic exiting at Business U.S. Route 20/State Street will be directed south on I-39 to exit at Harrison Avenue and reenter I-39 north to reach westbound I-90 and the open exit ramp to U.S. Route 20/State Street.
