SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Dozens of employees of a southwestern Missouri manufacturing plant will be out of work next month.
KOLR-TV reports that officials of Regal Beloit have confirmed 80 to 85 jobs at the company's plant in Springfield will be cut in mid-October. Most are full-time positions.
The company is based in Beloit, Wis. The Springfield plant makes components for heating, ventilation and air condition systems.
Regal Beloit officials told KOLR on Thursday that most of the products made in Springfield are in demand during the hot summer months. The company hopes to rehire workers in the spring, when demand picks up again.
The second and third shifts at the Springfield plant are being eliminated for now.
