UPDATE: Suspect Arrested in Shooting on Salter Avenue

UPDATE: ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One man is in custody, another suffering from life-threatening wounds after a shooting on Rockford's southwest side last night.

Rockford police say a 44-year-old man was shot in the back and in the leg. 51-year-old Charles Baisten has been arrested and charged with the shooting.

The shooting happened on Salter Avenue about 9:30 last night. Police have not released the name of the victim.

UPDATE: An argument Tuesday night on Rockford's south west-side ends in gun fire.

Rockford police say a 44 year old man is in stable condition at a local hospital, after getting shot twice in the back and once in the leg.

Around 9:30 p.m. officers were called to the 400 block of Salter Avenue for reports of shots fired. Police say they do have a suspect in mind, however, they are not confirming if anyone is in custody.

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford police say one person was rushed to the hospital Tuesday night after being shot on the city's south west-side.

It happened just before 10:00 pm in the 400 block of Salter Avenue, that's a little south of the intersection of Morgan and Main Streets. Right now, no word on the victim's condition. No suspects are in custody.
