While conducting a check of the rising water levels in the Rock River, Rock County Deputies found that water was covering several areas of S. River Road. Water levels are getting deep enough to create a traffic hazard for vehicles attempting to drive down the road.
Based on the increasing water level and the projected forecast indicating substantial amounts of rain, S. River Road will be closed to through traffic from S. Oakley Road to the STH 11 bypass. Residents who live on S. River Road will still have access to their residences at this time. Emergency Management personnel were notified of the situation and are apprised of the current hazard.
If conditions change or additional hazards arise supplemental releases will be provided.
