ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- After months of repair work and inspections the old Midway Theater in downtown Rockford is once again structurally sound.
The city just gave its final approval of the building. The theater's owner, Peter Crane, went through numerous checks and progress reports with the city's building inspectors since the roof caved in, in March 2012. Crane also settled some parking fines.
The city's Planner and Building Plans Examiner Thaddeus Mack says he looks forward to seeing what Crane plans to do with the empty theater in the future.
