Rockford's Faith Center Files for Chapter 11

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- With nearly $10 million in debts. Rockford's Faith Center has lost faith that they can pay back what they owe without some help.

A Faith Center spokesperson tells 23 News, the Faith Center filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Protection last month. The mega church owes just over $5 million to Sjostrom and Sons. It's for the construction of a sanctuary and office expansion at the South Main Street facility. The project was halted in 2008, after the church lost it's funding. The Faith Center also owes over $4 million to a California Christian Credit Union.

Rev Lyon's son-in-law Brad Hampton is now in charge of Faith Center. This according to an article in today's Register Star.

That "church" was built on the charisma of Rev Don Lyon. With him gone there's nothing left. Just like so many other groups that were founded, not by Jesus Christ, but by some personality.
