More than a half dozen local nursing students get some help to reach their career goals.

More than a half dozen local nursing students get some help to reach their career goals.
Seven minority nursing students were awarded scholarships today in the cafeteria at Rockford Memorial Hospital. The money comes from Rockford Health System as financial assistance for their college education. The Rockford Memorial Hospital Auxiliary is funding two of the scholarships.
The scholarships don't require a future commitment, but the hospital's president, Gary E. Kaatz, says he has high hopes the young nurses will choose to work at Rockford Memorial Hospital after they graduate.
